Hi folks,

I installed MM1-6, MM7 and MM8 from GOG and installed the Greyface patches... great games but my monitor screws up when trying to do 640*480 fullscreen 16-bit colour, so I've been looking for other ways to play.

For MM 6 I found AngelDeath's hires mod for mm6 - dll copied into exemods folder - looks great playing in a 1280*960 window.

For MM7 I found an old patcher MMResTool027fix2 which allows me to play fullscreen in my native resolution with upgraded textures (looks great). (bypasses Greyface fixes unfortunately).

For MM8... I have found nothing. Reduced to playing in a 640*480 window on a large screen.

Does anyone know if there is anything out there for MM8 or a better solution for MM7?

Excuse me, but where did you find the hires patch for mm6? I've been searching for a while now but I find nothing of the sort.

Yeah, i would also like to know how you found a hi-res mode for MM6, as well as if it doesn't clash with Greyface.

It's quite annoying to play MM6 with those two black bands on the side.

From what I gather, you might need to look at some Russian sites to find this (as the whole MM series was very popular in this region, that's the source for a lot of patches). Here's a comment someone left on AppDB, although I never could get that to work with MM7.

I hope someone can post a link/guide for this, as I'd love to see this.

Disclaimer: I haven't tried the mm6 resolution mod myself yet (but am very tempted).

Oh, that's a different thing though, it only allows you to play in a bigger window. The other mysterious mod has got higher resolution textures supposedly.

Correct - this is the stuff I was using. The MM6ResMod worked, but the MM7 one didn't. The MM7 one I've got actually runs the 3D window in a higher res.

Anyway, has anyone come up with anything for MM8 yet? It's just a shame my monitor can't cope very well with old legacy resolutions...
