Is there some kind of time limit to cure the plague? I've survived about 17 or so days in-game and now my max health is set to poor. Using basic medicines doesn't improve my condition and the journal reports that I don't need to take medicine. I'm a bit confused over whether this is intentional or a bug. Has anyone else encountered this?

Have you slept at all? That should cure up your condition. And no, there's no time limit.
