Metro 2033 Redux

After I have completed the "Station" level and the cut-scene with the post cards has played, all of my weapons, med kits, etc. disappear. Further, after we go through the hospital and meet Hunter the aliens attack. The guide (whose name I have forgotten at the moment) keeps saying "Get a weapon", but there are no weapons to be found. I have played through this stage at least 10 times and have searched everywhere I can see to search but still can't find any weapons. Also, shouldn't I be able to keep the weapons I had when the last segment was over.

I would appreciate any suggestions or help.

The part with Hunter happened several days before the attack at the surface so you can't have any weapons/equipment from that part. When your father tells you to get a weapon follow him to the locker at the wall. He opens it and takes the rifle which leaves you the revolver.

I finally figured out where to get the revolver, but I did not understand that the Hunter episode happened before the surface. Was there somewhere I was supposed to have discovered that?

I'm sure that it is mentioned at the beginning of the chapter.

I retired recently and decided to try some games. I did not realize that some of the things being said in the back ground or by some of the characters might be important. I guess that I need to listen more closely.
