The topic says it all. The game itself is hard coded to run 800x600 full screen. Is there any way to force it to a window?

Did a little more digging. If you run it on a Mac, apparently Option-W will switch it to a window. For Windows, there's no official support (not even a -window flag, which was pretty standard for older games), but there is a fan patch here to run it in a window.

well the brute force way to do it is to run it in a VirtualBox, but windowed mode doesn't work well in 64 bit versions of windows for some reason. If you're running 32 bit windows for some reason or another, you can just apply the windowed mode patch from Tropical and it'll work just fine.

Please don't take this as an insult, but why would you want to run it at all?
It's just such a terrible game.
