Just installed MoM. Enjoying the nostalgia. But I have run into a few weird things. Win7, btw.

I cannot see the saved games in the list, although I CAN select the slots and load the games.

If I save during a game, I can see the names* until I quit. The next time I load, I can't see them again, but they are still selectable.

Has anyone else experienced this (and hopefully fixed it)?

Thanks.

*the ones I just saved, that is; the earlier ones are still invisible.

Where is the game installed on your system? Windows versions later than XP have protections in place to prevent files in the c:\program files directories being easily overwritten, which breaks save game functionality on some older games if they are installed there. Putting them in c:\Users\Public\Games, or really any arbitrary directory of your choice outside of the Program Files directories solves this issue. I can't say if this is the cause of your problems, though.

I know that some game installers will now not install to Program Files for just that reason. I don't know if GoG.com's installers are among them.

If that's not the root of your problems, I'm afraid I'm at a loss.
Actually I have encountered this problem as well and I use XP. For me it happens if I delete all my save games and paste one back in to the folder. If I know which slot it was in I can still load it using that slot but it doesn't actually list it.

This problem is fixed for me though if right after I load it I save it again but give it a name again. Then even if I quit and start again it has the new name I chose.

Hi,

It is not installed in the Programs folder, but rather on a separate (non-boot) drive.

The only bummer is the hit-or-miss aspect of loading saved games. If I don't play for a few weeks I will probably lose track.

Oh well, thanks for the help.

Cheers,

Bill
