Hi
I've searched and searched but I can't find a Combat Guide.
For instance:
When it's my cleric's turn I would like to heal another party member. I click on the heart thing (Light Heal) on the top of the screen and then I press the "H" key and all the party members around me light up green. So I click on the one I want to heal and all these circles appear over him but his health doesn't go up and the cleric's manna doesn't go down. So what am I doing wrong? What are the circle things telling me?
There are quite a few other things that don't work for me or that I can't understand so a Guide would be very helpful.

Clicking on the heart icon only brings up the list of available healing spells (in the beginning this will only be 'Light Heal'). To cast 'Light Heal' you must first click on the heart icon. Then you must click on the 'Light Heal' line that appears. Finally you must click on the party member you want to heal.

Pressing H will execute the 'Help an Ally' action. This is used to remove some status effects from other party members, like Burning, Stunned and Frozen. It will not heal the character.

Many thanks for quick response. I'll try what you've suggested later on today when I can get back to playing the game.
But where did you learn how to do this? Where in the documentation does it tell you this? I bought the deluxe version and I can't find the information you provided in the 15-page Game Manual nor in the 202-page Game Guide.
I ask this so as not to have to keep troubling you (or whoever is kind enough to respond) about all the little things I'm having trouble with (like casting magic etc). Regards.
The icons on the top of the screen (like the Heart Icon for the healing spells) show a drop-down box when you click on them. You can click on one of the items to select it or keep your mouse pointer over an item for a second or two to get information on that item (for example the 'Light Heal' spell).

Clicking on the 'Helmet' icon in combat showed the 'Help an Ally' option. Hovering your mouse over that option shows what it does and that the H-key was assigned to this action. The 15-page game manual shows all the shortcut keys.

I am not sure if/where this is described in the manual, but trial and error helped me to figure most of it out. You can try to hover your mouse button over every interface item on the screen to get some information about what it does.

I'm still at a loss finding how to use "Help an Ally" .. Where's the action button for it ?? Do I need some special skill ?
When you are in combat several icons appear in the top middle of the screen. The third one will appear as a helmet. Click on that one and you get a drop-down box with several options, the 'Help an Ally' option among them. Click on 'Help an Ally' and finally on the party member you want to help.

You don't need an extra skill. Every character can use this option.
LoX is really some kind of learning-by-doing game. Many things you`ll only find out if you try. But the most obvious things are the icons in battle and how to use them. There is a tooltip help too, so you will easily understand what those icons doo and if you click on them you`ll see a list of things you can do. A totally different thing is what effects your actions have. Most of them are not really explained, so you`ll have to rely on the old try-and-error thing.
But to be on topic:
I recommend that you have at least a magician and a summoner in your party. Magic spells seem to always hit, while your fighters seem to miss about 70% percent of their attacks. A summoner can also help you, by summoning a fighter and a healer. First summon the fighter and put him in the front slot and then the healer and put himbehind the summoned fighter. It seems, as if the summoned fighter has a slightly increased chance to hit, he also distracts the enemies, so your real party members will take less damage.
Oh, and I have a question:
Can I rearrange the combat order outside of a fight?
