How do you mess something up so badly that a game can only be launched if the computer is set to English (United States) in region settings (thereby messing up time and all measurements if you happen to live anywhere else in the world). I can see this happening to a game made in the 80s, but come on!

Huh? My OS (not my computer) is set to the german region and the game launches just fine. So watcha talking bout?

I guess it about Unicode settings something in Advanced region settings.
But im not sure this should be affect game... Im on EN Win7 x64 Sp1 and Win 8 x64 8.1 both with RUS MUI installed additionally from WUpdate. When i activate russian MUI it automatically changes region settings and Unicode not-supported apps languages to cyrillic. Still im not faced any troubles.

If changing this really affect game... Well, i guess it should be fixed... maybe. Im sure game work on something else Region option, but some cause CTD. Or it's just a coincidence and another example of Win10 bugs-features. Op did something else and that fix game. Like always, should be tested more to find out what it is.

Have you tried to install the game on any other country in the world but Finland? No?
So, you should state that the game doesn't launch on a computer regionally set to Finnish.
On a French computer, this excellent RPG works flawlessly.

I hope you will play it anyway, it's worth it :)
