Is this game optimised? Reason i as is i have a top end system. AMD 7970, sandy bridge i7 2600k, 8gb ram and all the trimmings and can run games like BF3 on huge maps with over 60fps without a dip or a stutter, yet i've just loaded Grimrock and im in the first room and when i walk around and strafe its fine but when i spin in a circle im dropping frames from 60fps (vsync on) to 45fps occasionally. Strange. Anyone experiencing anything similar?
Weird. Game plays smooth as silk for me, and I haven't seen anyone else write they have this issue yet.

One thing though, it seems that the majority of people who have had glitches have had ATI cards. Do you have the latest drivers?
Thanks for response. Yeah using latest which are 12.3 i think. Strange, maybe it needs new ones to run properly. Maybe it has a config file i can tweak i havent looked yet or maybe the drivers need tweaking by AMD. Wonder if any other high end AMD users are seeing the same
Also smooth for me. GTX 570, i5 2500k, 8GB RAM.
This is sooo weird. When i start the first room and walk around and spin round etc i get 60fps. but as soon as i grab the torch off the wall and the rooms go into darkness then i get bad fps drop, but as soon as i put the torch back on the wall and light everything up the fps are smooth again (60fps). If anything, when it plunges into darkness there isnt much rendering going on so why does my AMD 7970 struggle with the light out? I guess my new game ends here till a fix is found. I hope the developers read this :(
Or you could just disable Vsync. It's fairly normal (and annoying) for Vsync to drop frames in order to maintain a suitable framerate: it doesn't just limit frames to 60. Same thing happened with Skyrim, where you could be fluctuating between 35fps and 60fps on Vsync, while disabling it would get you 120fps.

So in short, turn off Vsync. You get more frames, and the game doesn't move fast enough to tear anyway.
I will give it a go, although i have never had a drop of frames using vsync with any games i have nor skyrim with 20+ mods on it, always a solid 60fps with vsync.
Fixed my issue. All i did was use the borderless fullscreen option and super smooth again. Thanks for the replies here. I even went to the official forum to get advice but not one single reply (nearly 100 people read) so i don't rate the games after sales support too much.
