Just looking for a little mapping direction from someone who has done a few levels already. My first map ran off the page and I had to loop it over to the other end of the paper.

Going forward can I expect the levels to overlap each other in basically the same amount of area? For example at the end of level 1 I appear to be in the bottom left of the map. Should I start the second level towards the bottom left to map to avoid running off the page? Or do the levels not really conform to the same area?

Not sure on this, but going over the Auto maps in game, each area seems to be 32x32 squares big.

Are they placed over the same area of each other or do they spread out away from the other areas. What I mean is is it like a shoe box where the 13 levels would fit into a shoe box or would they burst out of the sides of the shoe box....I wish I has a better way to put this.

Edit : I know how to put this : are the levels like an office building? Different layouts on each level yet all conform to the external shape of the building and if you took the stairs down on the east side of the building you will be one level down at the same Z location?

Just gone back into the game to look, and it seems that they are leveled like an office building. Not sure as it was just a quick test, but they are at least roughly the same.

Awesome man thanks for the help!

Edit: Just wanted to add a note in case anyone reads this looking for the same info I was. I have since mapped the 2nd level and it doesn't work like the office building analogy. The levels branch off in any direction they please so you'll never know where to start your map on the graphing paper.
