I've come to the point where you step on the pressure a\place and it clicks 4 time and a teleport appears in front of you. I know you need to throw an object through the teleporter to proceed. I have done this 116 time (yes , that is one hundred and sixteen times). I hit the teleport at least 99% of the time. Nothing happens other than the thrown object appears behind the bars beside me.

How do I get this to work?

I'm not sure if I correctly remember if this is the puzzle or not, but you have to throw an item of correct weight which lands on a pressure pad after teleported. I think you should throw a rock (or maybe something heavier?).

There are 2 kinds of throws. One is considered an attack, the other is considered dropping an item.
