I deleted the game along with my save files through standard uninstall procedure.

In hindsight, that was a mistake.

Now I am trying to recover them through recovery software.

My question is if that is even possible? I didn't overwrite those areas with any new files and I deleted the game yesterday.

Some boring tech stuff incoming......

Your hard disk is divided into sectors. Each file is located in one or more of those sectors.
The filesystem has a list of all file names and which sectors are assigned to which files.
Many operating systems are lazy when deleting files and just delete the entries in the file system without actually deleting the contents of the sectors.

So what you need to do is somehow restore the entries in the filesystem. How easy this is depends on how lazy your operating system is. Some versions of DOS just deleted the first letter of the file name in the filesystem but I don't know if Windows does that too.

So yes, it might be possible so good luck!

and ofc you might even be so lucky as to find the save games in recycle bin.
