Furious right now! After playing for days upon days, timed puzzles were becoming impossible to beat due to the slight lag between moving (and turning) square-to-square. So I followed the advice of some on here who have said to reduce my settings in the game. I did so and the game restarted and ERASED ALL OF MY SAVES! Restarting the game again did not bring them back nor can I find a save game file in the Grimrock folder on my computer. Suggestions? I am getting tired of having problems with these Gog games.
It is not normal for your save games to disappear when you change game settings and it certainly doesn't have anything to do with it being the GoG version.

Saved games should normally be kept in My Documents / Almost Human / Legend of Grimrock.

This folder is specific to your Windows logon, so you're logged on under a different user account in Windows (administrator vs non-administrator, for example) then you won't see your saved games from the other account.

If you can't find the files there, and didn't make any changes to that folder yourself, then you should post on the Grimrock forums ( www.grimrock.net ) - if there really is a glitch that can delete saved games then they need to know about it.
I have to agree with Garran. I've been working with the game and editor since their respective releases, and I've never heard of this happening before. In fact, I've recently purchased a new monitor, and while playtesting a mod I've been working on for nearly a year, I've had to change my settings on the fly for some puzzles that I'd timed with my old, lower-res, monitor, without any difficulty or loss of saves.

Hopefully you've found the right directory, as Garran posted. If not, I'd suggest posting to the official support forum ( http://www.grimrock.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=12 ); the devs and users are very involved there.
