Can anyone tell me what the purpose and benefit of this confusing version number chaos is?
My GOG installation file says "version 1.0.0.6", but when I start the game it says "version 1.1.3".
The new patch file says "from 1.1.4 to 1.3.1", while the new GOG installer says "version 1.0.2.15".
It's possible to distinguish the two version numbering systems (3 levels vs 4 levels), but why have two systems? I know GOG does the same with other games, equally confusing. Here it's worse as LoG is an active game, and the confusion will return with every update.
I assume the GOG installation file is different from the original installation file, so there might be some justification for using a different system, but GOG should mention somewhere that their version 1.0.0.6 is equivalent with the original version 1.1.3. (and 1.0.2.15 with 1.3.1).
That the 1.1.4-to-1.3.1 patch doesn't work on my 1.1.3 installation is understandable, and I've re-installed 1.3.1 (in-game version) from scratch. But I wonder where I lost the jump from 1.1.3 to 1.1.4.
