Hello Goromorgs!

After thoroughly enjoying this game for the past 4 days, finally completing it on hard (71/71 secrets, oh yeah baby!;) ) after 14 hours gametime/20 or so hours realtime, I decided "Hey, time to try this great game on Oldschool, and this time I'll film it and put it on youtube".

In other words, I decided to make a let's play of the game.

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL727FD57E283617E7

Constructive criticism is more than welcome.

Part 2 (almost clocking in at 30 minutes, includes all of floor 1) is currently rendering, and will be up on the same channel sometime within the next 24 hours.

Hope you enjoy it!

Also, beware. Other than the obvious spoilers involved (ie, if you view me on floor 5 and are only yourself at floor 4), there might be some minor spoilers for later on (for example in this episode, I mention the total number of skulls in the game) and, having found all secrets before, and remembering most, I might reveal a secret that is new to you through me finding it.
Otherwise, should be tonnes of fun! I'm at least looking forward to drawing some kind of audience and finally venturing into the territory of YouTube videomaking:) Hell, I'd be happy if just 2 people from this forum started watching me regularly:D

This is the first episode.

EDIT: Episode 2 is currently being processed, the link is here:

Nice! Well, you now have one official viewer. I'm still playing the game and i'm currently on level 8. I didn't consider some of the choices that you made when you were in the character creation screen. I might restart based on your tips. Thanks for posting this on Youtube.
Thanks for your support:) Hopefully, more will join once I get more episodes up and running.
Also, feel free to post here or in the comments if you feel there's something missing or if you want me to put particular notice on something (for example a puzzle/secret on a certain floor that's stumped you)

Part 3 is now encoded and uploaded. Just need to finish processing, approx 30 minute until then
So far the videos are up to the save crystal on floor 2.

sounds fun, ive only completed it on normal 65/71, could be fun to watch jus to se the difference and to complete my secret count, since its easier to se where to go for them in an lp of someone that plans ahead then reading of em ;)
Hmm, the plan originally wasn't to go for all secrets, but I can tell so far that I have done all secrets up to the point I am in the LP. The plan was to just do the ones I remember off the top of my head. However, if "people" think it's a good idea, I'm not opposed to at least showing all the secrets.

Also, think I will take time to film and edit if need be episode 4 now so it can encode overnight:)
well not needed if u cant remmember em off ure head, was just a thought for myself, thou mostly a good way to look at how someone else plays i guess, im kinda hyper effective in how i set up and react to weapons coming off cooldown etc ;).
thou having a better LP then the 50+ noidea Lps on YT, theres a few good but most of them are abit meh since most arent good old dungeoncrawler fans so they get lost easely.
why such weird expression - "non-blind" . Shouldnt it be something more simple: like "Second try at lets play legend of grimrock"? :D
"Blind" is a term in let's plays that indicate the game is played without any prior knowledge, and at least for me connotates a messy, "feel your way forwards" attempt at playing the game, usually wasting the viewers time by running back and forth, looking for the solution to an easy puzzle.
This is especially the case when the creator has not edited out those parts of fruitless searching.

Don't get me wrong, experimentation in a LP is not bad, but most of the time people do not want to watch the same part played over each time you die, for example.

Blind let's plays does hold merit, as it is a way for people who don't have a chance to play the game to vicariously live through the newbie experience of the game, but more often than not, people do blind let's plays just to catch the initial wave of hype for a new game in order to monetize a partnered youtube channel.

That, and doing a blind let's play for a game that is more than "go from point A to B, killing along the way" is kind of a faux pas to most let's players from what I can tell:)

Also, "non-blind Let's Play" is a bit shorter than "2nd playthrough Let's Play"
I don't know about anyone else here on these fine forums but i am anxiously awaiting your next "let's play. Keep 'em coming.
Glad to hear it:)
Also, you might have been waiting in vain. And by that I mean I have already made 4 new episodes since last posting here:)

Link to an ongoing playlist of the LP:

The two newest episodes, covering level 3:

Level 3 part 1:

Level 3 part 2:

And again, remember, any feedback is appreciated:)
while you are doing good duty to this community your title slightly insulted me as if IM playing this game blindly.. or that im blind. :D since i dont use sophisticated terms, i just wanted you to know about my opinion :P
Oh I'm sorry, no offense intended. But I can see how the title could be misconstrued.

That reminds me of a guy I used to read, Beau Hindman. He was very involved with a site known as AbleGamers, http://www.ablegamers.com/, but I wouldn't be surprised if you already know of it.
I remember being very impressed how some people taught themselves to beat games by audio queues alone.

Anyways, episode 8+9 is all recorded now, but probably won't get the editing done before in a few days. At least with regards to episode 9, as episode 8 don't require much editing.

EDIT: Hmm, I attempted to see if I could change the topic title, but apparently that requires a mod.

In case a mod sees this, he's welcome to change the title to:
"A new Let's Play (1080p, completionist)"
