I bought the remastered Soul Reaver edition on GOG a couple of days ago. I've never played before.
Today, I encountered a block puzzle in the silenced cathedral where are are four blocks stuck to the ceiling, and four blocks near slots in the walls. As I started the puzzle, I thought that I needed to get the blocks off the ceiling first. I thought maybe I could reach the blocks on the ceiling if I stacked the four blocks that were already on the floor and used the elevated alcove.
I stupidly stacked the four blocks into two stacks of two before realizing that even with the alcove, I wouldn't be able to do anything with the ceiling blocks with this route (see attached screenshot). When I realized that, I just looked up the solution and apparently, all I needed to do was slide the floor blocks in their recesses, then the ceiling blocks would fall to the floor. Well, now that I have two stacks of two blocks, I have no way of sliding the top blocks off the two stacks because there is no angled wall sticking out of a corner in this particular room, which, like other block puzzle rooms, would have enabled me to line up with a top block in a two stack and slide it off.
I have already tried saving and quitting twice. I also tried warping to and from the silenced cathedral warp room. Neither of these methods reset the block puzzle I'm stuck on. Is there another way to reset this puzzle? Am I missing something with how to slide off the top block of the stacks? Because without the corner wall platform, this is a huge oversight. The only thing I can think of would be to revert to another save and lose a ton of tedious progress.
