I have Soul Reaver 1 both on CD (obtain long ago with an Italian magazine) and the GOG version, but the latter does not recognise my controller unlike the previous. Same PC, same OS, same controller.
Now, I don't mind using a controller to keyboard mapper as if I remember the PC version doesn't support analog movements for Raziel, I just wanted
1) to report this as a bug or missing feature and
2) to ask, before using a mapper, if there are any patch to apply (also for GOG's staff to patch the game directly in the installer if they like).
So, any ideas? Thanks
Hi Jeffry84,

It's possible the GOG version has changes/updates that are causing the inconsistent behavior you are experiencing with your controller.

Is it an Xbox 360 controller? I had issues with my Xbox 360 controller and Soul Reaver until I used XInput Plus. I wrote up the steps in the following post:

Steps to configure Soul Reaver to work correctly with an Xbox 360 controller

Give them a try and let us know if it works for you.

The command lsusb on my OS, Debian 8, calls my controller "ID 07b5:0312 Mega World International, Ltd Gamepad", and no, it's not an XBox360 controller. It's a good old controller from Impact (whoever they are). It's been serving me well for quite a long time now, and hopefully it'll keep doing it. If you were wondering, yes, it's perfectly recognized and working under Debian and with many programs and games.

On Debian, I use QJoyPad to emulate keyboard buttons on my controller, but thanks. Maybe your guide will help someone else anyway (even just naming the programs we use could do it). As far as I know there are no analogue inputs in the PC version of LoK:SR, so using a mapper fully solves the controller problem as long as one remembers to keep it in the background while playing.

But still, I wonder what's the reason for the regression.
