Does anyone know if there are any community patches to improve the graphics of the game. I`ve been looking for something in this area with no success so far.

There is nothing like that unfortunately. Bascially just increasing resolution in game. There is a widescreen patch and a framerate unlocker out there (I've never used) but there isn't anything like a retexture patch or anything like that.

Really upping the resolution, it doesn't look all that bad to me really. But that may be nostalgia tinted glasses lol.
Thank you sir ! It's definitively not a deal breaker for me as the story of this series is pure awesomeness.
Aged graphics is not a deal breaker for me either. One thing annoys however, is the constant "jumping" of surfaces when they're in motion. If I recall correctly, it has something to do with the Z-buffer. The effect is clearly visible in higher resolutions. Anyway, I don't think there's any way to fix that, so I guess we'll have to live with it.

I'm just flat out amazed on how well its performing period. I haven't been able to get my PC Physical CD to install and run only but 1 time years ago on an old laptop and only in software mode at a tiny fixed resolution.

Every attempt I've made in the past couple years failed to get it working. I tried all the installers, patches, fixes, workarounds it just refused to run.

I honestly didn't think I'd see it here for that reason. But it's been running amazingly. I can easily live with dated textures. It still looks fine to me. GOG has really floored me with this release.

Hah, yes, I don't deny that it's awesome they made it working so great. No problems whatsoever. The Z-buffer thingy was present on almost all (if not all) the 3D PSX games, so that's not a big annoyance, I understand that equipment was technically limited. I'm just happy that they released it at all :)
From what I see on the screenshots from the game's page, it seems like Raziel uses the lower-poly, lower-res-texture version, the same as the PSX version of the game.
I wonder if there might there be some way of modding in the improved character models from the Dreamcast version?

There were no mods in this regard. I remember some people trying to replace the textures (with mixed effects).

there are some projects to do so
http://www.thelostworlds.net/Software/Soul_Reaver_PC_Texture_Utility.html
is a tool that allows you to export the textures from Soul Reaver, edit them and re-import them

but i haven't found anything that increase the resolution of the textures
there is also some tools for the other parts of the series

It would be nice if it would eventually be able to allow for high res texture replacement. As some other games do. That only allows for same size files to replace existing ones unfortunately. If they ever figure out a way to do so there enough dedicated fans to the series someone would take it up.

Currently there is a mod available, which replaces all the textures within the game but personally, i like to mix and match what 2 texture mods i found.

1 had every area re-done (Although since i did graphics i can easily spot the fact they just... "Went over the details" a bit more) which leads to 2 issues, fuzzy-ness (Where too much details trying to be displayed at a distance away) and it actually making my head go in a bit. the 2nd issue with this is soul reavers textures are using squares, so you can see where the squares are (And its really obvious) when i used the mod, i also noticed (clearly) any sunlight beams had blocks going through them...

the other texture mod only had the characters done (Raziel, Kain, Ariel and Moebius)and they only altered the underworld slightly just to make it have a bit more detail.

i decided to merge the two, and to be honest, it is slightly blowing my mind, but i find the original graphics to be clearer / better quality considering it has done me in a bit, and my game crashes when i get to the upper parts of the cathedral...

in honesty, i did have one i was working on, but technical issues, and college i had to stop it, then i found others started taking up the same challenge as me, i decided to leave it to them. So i do like to think i started the whole "updating" soul reaver for the PC frenzy everyone has been doing lol

i have been though my history to find the names of the mods if anyone was interested

the mod for the landscape (Which does have a different textures for the characters, i just couldnt stand them)
"Re-birth"
and the mod for the characters was
"Sr1 Texture Mini Mod"

if you go to the lost worlds under software, i used their soul reaver textures utility to manually extract from the mini mod and inputted it into Re-Birth, Again personal preference. Just remember to back up an original set of the textures for if you want to play without the mods enabled.

The Dreamcast release uses improved textures and models... and it also output in 480p mode in VGA.
