Soul Reaver was installed about an hour ago. Once it was fired up and "Start New Game" was chosen, the cinematic started and had its run.
It was still going smoothly when it made it to in-game graphics. The camera panned around until it made it to Raziel's side, then froze.
I figured it was a one time thing, so closed the game(I had to use the Task Manager), then launched again. I skipped the opening cinematic this time, but it got to the same point beside Raziel, then froze.
An object in the background was still pulsing, but nothing else was happening.

You should probably try contacting support.
Any luck? With support or any other way?

I am having the exact same problem.
Have you tried setting compatibility mode to Win98?
