Can you please tell me your keyboard mapping?

Did you play with the default mapping?

Or did you chose the WASD mapping, what did you change too?

Did you edit the mouse buttons too?

When I played the game as a kid, I went straight default. Now that I'm used to WASD configurations, though, I can't stand not to use them. I mapped forward and back movement to W and S, respectively, made A and D my turn keys, and Q and E my strafe keys. F remained my melee attack key, and I made R my spell key. It's pretty comfortably for me now, though hate using PageUp and PageDwn to look up and down.

Since this post is more than a week old, did you find a configuration you liked more?
