I downloaded the game from GOG and I can't create a new book because the text box where you name the book is blank. The options menu lags when I try to select anything. When I try to quit the game, the text box is blank and only the YES or NO buttons are visible. Pushing ENTER on the new book screen causes an error message to pop up and the game crashes.

I used the .INI method to get the game to start and I have an ATI Radeon 6870 videocard on a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit edition operating system.

Please help!!!

`EDIT~

Wait, the menu lags? then you might want to check if anything is running in the background that might be interfering, I haven't had this problem, so I don't know how to approach it as it sounds unique.

First off, congrats for getting it to run!

Secondly, you might want to double click where it asks you to input a title, then, do NOT use any spaces, instead try an underscore, or just don't put any spaces as it's not recognized as a proper character.

Hope this helps!

I fixed this problem by the way.

I just restarted my computer and the game began running correctly. It was the weirdest glitch I've ever seen. From now on, restart the computer immediately after installing Return to Krondor.

The game was very easy to get running. Just follow the instructions on the GoG support pages to edit the krondor.ini file. The game runs perfectly after that. Make sure Google Chrome is closed because it prevents the game from starting, but you can safely open it while the game is running.

If you have an ATI video card with Catalyst Control Center, you can do even better than that. The game has very poor textures and jagged edges at high resolutions. Create your own profile for it and force high Anti-Aliasing and Anistropic Filtering to smooth out the textures.

The text is difficult to read at higher resolutions and there doesn't seem to be a way to fix it. It is still readable, although barely.

The videos are stuck in small boxes with black bars and there doesn't seem to be a way to fix it.
