I have trouble with progress in chapter 3 of Betrayal at Krondor.

I talked to Jafhaz in Silden and did his little errand. He told me to seek out a guy called Abuk. Abuk was the guy you met on the road who offered lockpicking lessons. But he's nowhere to be found now.

Jafhaz also said something about a captain bound for Krondor, but I can't find this guy either. Could you give me some sort of hint (not to detailed and spoilery) as to how to proceed?

PS this game really NEEDS some sort of journal to keep track of quests and places of interest.

Finding Abuk is optional and doesn't influence chapter progress. He'll point you towards one of the chest north of Silden, which you can otherwise find on your own. If you want to talk to him, he should be somewhere around the place you found him earlier, on the road between Silden and Lyton.

Jafhaz mentioned a man who bought silver spider was looking for a passage to Krondor. That bit of info serves only to point you to the next location you should visit. You won't talk to ship captain at all.

You can get some information from visiting Krondor, but to get on with the main quest you should visit Cavall Keep.

Cavall Keep! I was on the way there anyway - I wanted to take a look at that Prank Stone that was mentioned and Owyn said we shoul make a visit.

BTW I already talked to Abuk in chapter 3, he indeed only tells you about the chests near Silden and he seems to disappear from the map afterwards.
