Hi gang,

Thanks so much for being supporters of "Betrayal at Krondor." When John Cutter and I created the game twenty years ago, we had no idea that people would still be talking about this game, let along still PLAYING it after two decades. We created the game, but it's been you guys who have kept the flame alive, and we appreciate it deeply.

What I'm dropping in today to tell you about is the Kickstarter for my first fantasy novel, "The Thief of Dreams". Although I've been creating worlds and stories for the computer gaming industry for over twenty three years, this will be my first conventional novel. (I've written two other books, "Swords & Circuitry: A Designer's Guide to Computer Role-Playing Games" and "The Derailment of the Sunset Limited", but neither of those was a work of fiction). It's not been that I didn't WANT to write a novel before, but my responsibilities as a game designer have eaten up the time I needed to write novels or short stories on the side. But now I feel the time has come to finally get down to it, and to create again the kind of story that you loved in Betrayal at Krondor.

"Thief" will combine magic, espionage, court intrigue, and high adventure in an exciting new book in the same tradition as the novels of Raymond E. Feist, George R.R. Martin, Tad Williams, and Guy Gavriel Kay. If you've enjoyed any of my games ("Betrayal at Krondor", "Dungeon Siege", "Planet's Edge", "Might & Magic III: Isles of Terra", "Champions of Norrath"), then I think you'll find something in this novel you'll enjoy.

If you'd like to know more the project, I invite you to follow our "The Thief of Dreams" project page on FacebookWe'll also be going live on Google+ and YouTube to broadcast the moment that the Kickstarter campaign officially kicks off. Hope to see you,

Thank you!
Neal
