Slartibartfas: Now, i want to take the german language files from my old version and put them into the new one.
fe79: There are no separate language files. Almost all of the game data is contained in one big file called 'KRONDOR.001'. I have no idea if a German data file is compatible with the English executable though.
What problems are you experiencing with your old German version? If you just want to take advantage of the DOSBox configuration supplied by GoG, then you would be better off just copying all of the files from your old version, overwriting the ones in the GoG BaK folder.
I tried it too, by just overwriting the Krondor.001 file with the german one, the game wont even start, but i didnt tried yet to overwrite all files yet with the old german ones.
I shall attempt that next.
EDIT 1 & 2:
Well it is possible to switch to German by overwriting the GOG Files with the German DOS Files, however:
- letters like "ß" (sharp s) will be missing (fixed by using the actual KRON.EXE File instead of the GOG KRONDOR.EXE or by just renaming the KRON.EXE to KRONDOR.EXE)
- & the CD Music wont be available.
- Furthermore the Sounddriver has to be set on SNDBLAST.DRV in the Resource.CFG in order to work.
- When you start the Game, the Message "Loading the Game, please wait" is replaced by "Downloading from O.G.N.D, please wait" its a bit confusing but it surely starts after it.
Last but not least the German Version is on 1.0 not 1.02, a patch is available but i dont know how to apply it.
