Specifically talking about the storehouse cheat to increase items, I cant get it to work is anyone else having the same issue?

The cheat patterns are different in The Shattered Kingdom (original 1998 release) and The Peasants Rebellion (release here on GOG) Have you tried the TPR pattern? ("P" shape) This fan-site page shows both of them:
