Issue: Game becomes unresponsive all the way to ALT-F4 and CTRl-ALT-DEL no longer working.

Steps to reproduce:
- Finish a run with death.
- Spend gems. (I have bought all the short keys in one go.)
- Burry the old char and chose an item for the next run.
- Hit the shut-down (exit) button.

The exit button is displayed in status 'pressed '.

Sound does not play.
ALT-TAB leads to a grey screen with nothing visible.

Only a PC reset brings the machine back to life.
