Hi, all! I'm having some difficulty getting Mask of Eternity to boot up.

I'm using an Acer AspireOne netbook with Windows XP 32-bit Home Edition, Service Pack 3. I've tried the starttxt.txt help method listed in the forums, as well as the "assignGModeName Software" solution, and neither seems to work. I've switched to every compatibility mode I can find, tinkered with every option available, and simply can't get it to work.

When I select the shortcut or .exe file to start the game, the screen flickers black, and sometimes (not every time) I see the rectangular Mask of Eternity logo with Connor appear for a split second. Then the desktop reappears, and any non-maximized windows I have open in the background (like the file folder containing my GOG games, open while I was working on this) are shunted over to the bottom-right corner of my screen.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I missed out on this game years ago, only ever getting to play the demo, and am really eager to go in-depth with what seems like a great game.
