I've been playing King's quest 6 as of late or should I say I've been trying to play it.

Every time I open king's quest 6 (although it happens in 4-5 and 6) it runs EXTREMELY slow. I figured out that if I can load a game it works fine AS long as I don't move the mouse. If I move the mouse it starts moving EXTREMELY slow again.

For a while I fixed it by using Alt-enter and fullscreen and windowing the game. However now that doesn't work anymore.

Any ideas? Anyone else had this problem? Even better anyone have a solution for this problem?

I'm running Windows 8, 64-bit.

The first thing I'd try is opening the conf file and setting the cycles to MAX. The file should be in the folder where you installed KQ6. Probably called something like dosboxKQ6.conf.

It also wouldn't hurt to see how much your system resources jump to when you play the game. You could be running to many other programs. Sometimes there are programs running that you're not even aware of
Great thank you that is a HUGE Help! I've been looking for the config files for DosBox. Haven't found a solution yet for the problem but I'll keep messing with the render setting and let you know! Thank you again! This really was a massive help!
