According to posts in this forum there are/were at least two builds of v 1.7 avaiable (build 35234 and build 35396).

I downloaded the game files about a week ago (2.1.0.10). The game is v.1.7 build 34287. Where have all these newer builds gone? Why?

OMG, I loved KB:TL and I completely lost interest in playing it after (because of this) - this info is new to me.
And it is really weird they downgraded game version even more?!

1.7b35396 - version released by GOG - exe was cracked using some "3rd party" software :] - game had a lot of bugs I explained in linked topic above.

1.7b35234 - version released by Steam/GamersGate - after my alert GOG's downgraded its KG:TL version to this number. (my problem was: previous savegames didn't work, I was frustrated and lost interest in playing any KB game)

Now I hear about 1.7b34287 = another downgrade. I wonder what's wrong this time? Can someone check what version number is on Steam//GamersGate at the moment?

Hi Lexor,

thanks for your answer. At last a little light in this rotten dark....

BTW, downgrading to build 34287 didn't help in Upper Hadar. Activating Lina wasn't possible, only switching back to the "old exe" (as GOG calls build 35234) brought her into the game. Fortunately 35234 seems stable (so far) and it works fine with my savegames from 34287.

As I said, I'm not up-to-date with all these versions but I read something about Upper Hadar's bugs (it's not possible to talk to NPC, right?)

Sooo.... the "old exe" is really "one version up" exe? lol? o.o

If 35234 was ok before and is stable... why did GOG downgrade the game to even lower version...?

Some time after GOG's version I also purchased KB bundle from Humble Bundle.
http://indiegamebundle.wikia.com/wiki/The_Humble_Weekly_Sale:_1C_Company

HB's KB will be the only version I plan to play if my frustration goes away (if ever) because:
a) I DO NOT trust any of GOG's KB versions now after my disappointment of their "critical failure"
b) I don't like any DRM so I don't have Steam account etc.

But as I don't have it installed I don't know HB's version number - maybe someone will like to check it too?

At this moment I personally think that any KB:TL version above/below 1.7b35234 is "wrong one" - it's wrongly cracked or not properly patched.

PS. You are able to load 34287's saves on 35234's exe just because its not downgrade as it was in my case.

Hmmm, seeing your bug list, reminded me of a problem i had on KB:Armored princess(and why i stopped playing).Frequently(like 70-80% of the time),when i was doing the fast travel, the game was freezing on the loading screen, completely stuck.Unable to do anything,i alt-tab,task manager and try to close the program. The problem was though, that it wouldn't close,no matter what!Alt+F4,kill process, kill process tree, nothing worked! The only way to close the program, was to re-boot the pc.As you understand i couldn't keep playing.I wonder, have you experienced this bug with the gog version and maybe found a way around it?

Was it also GOG's version? If yes, I wonder how many other players experienced this bug.
But anyway, I can't help you more with that, as I, myself, stopped playing at KB: The Legend (and this topic is about it).

When you hit the Upper Hadar problems, did you try downloading this fix to resolve it?
http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=5623&page=3

That one fixed the problem for me. I also saved the file in a gog thread:
https://www.gog.com/forum/kings_bounty_series/gogs_kings_bounty_the_legend_v1_7_build_35396_has_some_serious_bugs/post35

It's probably a bit hard for gog to include this fix in the installer though, as its from a pretty random source and nobody knows what problems it could introduce (or copyright someone might claim?)
