So do you juggle handing out your death sentences with small claims, some contracts, maybe a divorce or two, and torts? Does your helmet give you superhuman powers of Lexis Nexis searching? Do you ever hold off on shooting someone to wait for the appellate judges to decide a similar case?

Sorry did not get it - what are you trying to ask us?
It seems to me he was joking.
I thought it was funny. :)
I think he is making the joke that Dredd is a cop, but acts nothing like one.
Look into the source material, 2000 AD makes Warhammer 40k look reasonable and nonviolent.

While I would like 40k to be more reasonable and less grimdark, I can imagine there being thousands of worlds like Dredd's Earth in the Imperium. Mostly because the 40k world is enormous (most of the galaxy) and pretty open for interpretation. ;)
Don't forget 40K inquistors that can have entire worlds destroyed even if they suspect the taint of evil.

If I remember correctly its not like that - there need to be a conclave or sth like that to annihilate planet. Extermiantus is not a gun but one of the final resorts.
And sorry for not getting that joke :P
I've played it,. and am sorry they didnt work it as a story based game...the Apocalypse War, the Oracle Spice, the Judge Child...even Judge Cal.
Some brilliant storylines written over the years, Necropolis being another one.
If they had made it an action / RPG like Fallout, it would have made for more playabillity, more interaction with characters....a tour of the Hall of Justice for example.
*sigh*

Haha nice I feel your pain. xD
For sure there is a truck load of Dredd material from 2000ad. I would have loved to see an ABC warrior and a few other things. I grew up reading 2000ad. This game was just plain fun for me tho....it actually felt pretty close to the whole Dredd vibe from the comic. No complaints.....if you want a bad game there was a really shitty Judge Dredd Arcade game (side scroller) made in the 90's...it was awful. This is a solid shooter....i enjoyed it more than Halo 3 for gods sake.....
