Is GOG going to release some kind of patch or something to play this game in a window? As tiny as the 640x480 resolution is on a modern computer/monitor, there's pretty much no reason not to put this game in a window,if it's possible to do so.

Same caveat I gave then still applies equally now. The game was not designed to run in a window, and may behave oddly.
