Hey all,

Since this board seems to have a pretty active I76 community, I thought I would share this so people can do some testing with it.

Basically, the IP Multiplayer DLLs were written before many people started using routers in their homes and for the longest time, you couldn't host a game from behind a router. Well, some of the people over at Interstate76.com have re-written the DLL so that you can host a game from behind a router.

Since people here are wanting to play online, I decided to post the link to the new DLL and instructions from the re-coder. If we could get some regular testing going to test this, it would be awesome.

Thanks to Lightfoot for posting it, and for BOFH for doing the coding work.

Anywho, the new DLL is at:
http://www.interstate76.com/download/dll/Winet.dll

Instructions from the re-coder:

Instructions for EVERYONE, host or client:
Replace WINET.DLL in your Interstate76/DLL folder with the version Light linked above (keep a backup, just in case!)

If you are hosting:
-Also forward port 21157 to your host machine on your router
-Make sure all LOCAL clients joining the game join AFTER the external clients have connected (working on this problem, may have found a fix: have your local clients connect to the external IP instead of the internal one, unconfirmed however!)

If you are just joining, not hosting:
Nothing! Just know the external IP of the host and connect via the "Internet" option on the main screen.
Anyone willing to test this with me?

Hey there this is good news, I have requested login for Interstate76.com recently. Are you planning on hosting on your personal IP or playing through tunngle/kali?

I would be happy to help I am just waiting for my router to be upgraded, should be sorted next week.
I can play around with my router and set something up.
I see you're in the UK. We'll have to come up with a good time to play.
Sounds good to me buddy, my ICQ is 29893823 if you are on there. I am looking forward to playing online again!
Ok i tried it. It works, but only with Interstate 76(vanilla or Gold 3D). Nitro pack doesnt support(

Thats great news! I will have to upgrade my CD version to gold. We'll have to get some gaming sorted.
Maybe we should contact to developer of this fix and ask him about Nitro Pack. Here is his page http://cs.uwindsor.ca/~peelar/ contacts on bottom.
I try nitro pack with custom anet servers. Game connect to master server, i see lobby, but cant connect to it, maybe because of NAT on my router. But i 76 works perfect, even without anet servers(master server is one of players).

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I'm the writer of this patch here. First off, thank you for your interest. With the renewed interest I've seen in the patch, I'm considering starting up again for the Nitro version soon. I'm hearing reports that the Gold edition also works with my DLL. Is that true? If so, could anyone please share with me exactly what upgrade path you took to get to Gold? I.e. did you start at Vanilla, then work your way up, or did you just take the Gold edition itself and install it, are they GOG versions, etc. This would be much appreciated and would speed development. Thank you!

Hello. Firstly, thank you for patch, we alredy use it for i76. First I tried original vanilla version, then i installed two official patches - gold 3d and gold 3d accelerated (1.06 and 1.08). Your fix works with gold 3d accelerated perfectly, but all players must have same versions. Gog version - it just Arsenal edition, its include i76 gold 3d accelerated and Nitro Pack. But gog version have modified exe, i dont know what's changed and why, however players with gog version and players with gold 3d accelerated can play together, and fix works with gog version.
About Nitropack. Its havent any patches, relese version alredy include hardware acceleration like i76 gold 3d accelerated, but it used newer version of anet, so your fix doesnt works with Niro. At the same time Nitro doesnt connect to unofficial fan-anet servers, which works with interstate 82, probably nitro's anet version not so new, or need special fix (i have fix for i82 for fan-anet servers).
P.S. Oh, my English is not good enough yet :P
