Screenshot shows the problem. Windows 8, 1366x786 resolution, Nvidia graphics. The game actually runs fine but for the fact that text in menu and in-game has this odd distortion effect where every other letter drops a few pixels. In game this is particularly annoying as it can make some messages unreadable.

Ok problem somewhat resolved: the game has trouble seeing my laptops NVIDIA graphics card and instead sees the Intel integrated graphics 'twice'. It defaults on launch to the intel card, which can't render the text properly. Going to options and selecting the 'other' intel card seems to switch it over to using NVIDIA and solves the problem.
Good idea, it seems to solve the issue... but only just a bit on my PC. I'm actually pretty sure the game detects nVidia on my config, and whatever the 'Intel' card I choose in the options, it looks like it's just better starting directly on the Intel card (which allows for 16bit colour in the options, don't know if this is key to the problem). But performance and bug-wise it's not that safe, so back on nVidia... with scrambled text.

So here are some other ideas if someone it still stuck with this issue.

At the bottom of this thread, someone gives another solution - modifying flux.ini and then 'forcing' graphics detection by entering the Graphics menu and just going back to the main menu: http://www.neoseeker.com/forums/430/t755802-war-2-display-problems/

(just copy-pasting in case the thread disappears)

'Problem more or less solved by changing, in flux.ini :
override_pixel_texel_offsets = 0
pixel_offset_x = -0.5
pixel_offset_y = -0.5

to
override_pixel_texel_offsets = 1
pixel_offset_x = 0.4
pixel_offset_y = 0.4

[...]

Now, for a strange thing. For the text in the menus (previous fix was only for playing) to be readable, i have to :
- start the game
- go options/graphics
- do nothing, validate out
- that's it menus are now readable !!
(make sure compressed textures in graphics option is ticked off)'

I've found just changing 'override...' to 1 and going to Graphics and back does the trick just fine for me.

This reminds me of another trick, but on AMD cards - using ATi Tray Tools, you could find a setting ('alternate pixel center', or something) which solve text scrambling issues on other games like Soulbringer or Sacred, so it's worth a try in this case.
