Hi!
I own the original IWar2 and I am wondering if they optimized this for gog somehow or if its the same game?
Would I have less hassle installing and playing the gog version on a modern system than my own? Then I would buy it again otherwise I'll just search for the original soemwhere in my storage boxes.

Nope, not at all.

I have a copy of the original and it runs fine on my system (Vista 64) without any need for tinkering, in fact it runs better on Vista than it did on XP (On XP I had to run in Compatibility mode to stop it running too quickly)

there was a problem with the original version, even with the patches that stopped it working on anything with more than a gig of memory.

this version does not seem to suffer from that problem, though I'm running this one in win7 rather than XP.

The only optimisations are that it's fully patched up, doesn't require the CD in the drive and is in a single install file, which are enormous conveniences over the original disc version.
