Back in 1999 I discovered MoO 1 and 2 in a bargain bin at a local store (and MoO 2 wasn't even that old in 99) - this was my first experience with MoO (yes I know, I was years late finding MoO1) and well, the whole space 4x scene as a whole. I played them both to death..... in 2000 I was browsing the then much smaller internet for other games of a similar type. I spotted MoO3 as "under development" - which led me to nothing but bitter disappointment when that finally was released. I also spotted some old ancient poster mentioning "other than Master of Orion, there's only really Imperium Galactica that is even remotely good.....". I couldn't find anything about this on the net then, and I never heard of or saw even a fart of Imperium Galactica again..... I often wondered why it was that even on GOG there's been no sign of it..... I even began to think it was all myth or a false memory..... until today!

Well, first impressions of the screenshots, released in 1997 - but the GFX look like they came from 1993 - and it has to use DosBox! Is this a good sign though? Is this because IG was in development for a full four years? Hopefully because they were putting a huge amount of content into it, and making triple sure there were no bugs left before release?

Well I don't know, but for £3.89 it's not worth worrying about!

I played IG in 98 when I was roughly 13 years old and I have waited almost 20 years just to play it again and IG2 (which I had never gotten before.) I am STOKED that both games are available on GOG.com now and totally worth playing IG all over again.

Now to see if IG2 is worth playing...
