Can't make any mod to work, tried Invictus, bronze age, black&red UI, nothing works.

Tried adding mods automatically with the launcher, I see the mod splash screen during loading but afterwards it always ends in a crash.
Tried downloading mods manually and unpack them in the mod folder, nothing happens.
Tried changing the mod descriptor to the exact mod folder, didn't work either.

Anyone having any luck (if there's anyone here at all...)?
I really wanted to try the Bronze Age and Invictus mods.

To make certain, proper procedure for mods is -
The mod folder is 'C:/Users/(username)/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Imperator/mod/'. Create the folder if it doesn't exist.
The mod will come as an archive (eg, .zip) file - extract the archive to the mod folder.
There will be a .mod file somewhere in the archive - either alongside the folder, in which case you're good, otherwise it will be inside the individual mod folder. If it's inside the folder, copy it to the base folder. if it's named descriptor.mod, rename it something, it can be anything, but I'd recommend the same name as the individual mod's folder for clarity.
Open the .mod file with notepad, make sure there's a line that's 'path="mod/(mod folder name)"'. If it's archive=something, replace that with the aforementioned path line.

I haven't touched Imperator since mid '23, but I had no issues with mods then, including with both the mods you mentioned. Though the 2.4 beta patch steam has had for some time might now be a hard requirement for mods - we only have 2.3 here. If this is the case your options would be either a) find an older version of the mod that still works with 2.3, or b) find the 2.4 update somewhere.

yeah I had it figured out on the Paradox forums, for some reason most of the mods have their files disorganized (or in a incompatible format for GOG?) so you need to place them in a folder and edit the descriptor with a path to said folder (and for some mods make it read only or the descriptor will automatically edit itself...).
I also disabled automatic updates to avoid breaking anything for now, as the new patch had some life signs a few days ago by some devs in the Paradox forum, but thanks for the help anyway, I'll mark this thread solved.
