I got my controller to work straight from the beginning, enjoyed 20 minutes of flying and now, after restarting, the game won't see the controller that used to work just hours before.

I tried all the famous solutions (unchecked 'read only' on pilot file; enabled 'joystick' in setup; triple checked if my system could see the pad; messing with the 'input', 'controls' and 'hotas controls' menus), but still the game is stuck with keyboard and mouse inputs, no matter how hard i try.
