I just downloaded and setup the game with no issues. When I ran the game my video has horizontal lines. It's not so bad that I can't see the menu options. Other than the video issues the game appears to run okay. I'm using Win-7 64 bit with an EVGA 480 superclocked. Drivers are current as of a month ago.

Any ideas?

Two things you can try :

- in the game config, try enabling the Use OpenGL 3D Acceleration.

or

- switch the game to 16-bit color and enable the boxes "Software Mirror Blt", "Software Transparent Blt", "Software Standard Blt"

Recommend not trying both together - if the first one doesn't work disable the acceleration before trying the second.

I read these fixes in another thread and tried them, no joy...

I have the latest drivers from EVGA, but, there are some newer drivers for the 480 on the nvidia site. Do you think it's worth trying?

I'm thinking it may be a directx issue, but if it is that I'm not sure what to do about it.

Thanks for the reply.

Any other thoughts?I found the fix!

I followed "The Big"'s post and everything seems to be working. From what the other posters are saying this fix works for other video issues as well in many of the older games.Sorry, I referenced the wrong poster. Dazzle listed the fix, The Bigg just tagged Dazzle's post. Got to give credit where credit's due.

I have the same trouble
Follow the link posted above and read Dazzle's post. It's an easy fix that worked for me. If you read through the thread you will see that it also solved alot of other problems folks were having with game speed, other video issues, etc...

I've played the game for a few hours now and everything seems to be working.
If any of you is having compositing problems with the sprites (characters, cursors in menus, etc.) and has an ATI card installed, disabling ATI Catalyst A.I. would fix them. I had a horrible time with this setting in Prince of Persia 3D and remembered just it time for IWD.
Hi Harcalion

I'm having the cursor problem and have an ATI card, how do i turn that option off? and from where?
Yeah, turning off Catalyst AI totally fixed the horrendous flashing/ghosting issues.

You can turn it off by opening your Catalyst control center. Go to the 3D section >> All tab, then the Catalyst A.I. is third from the top. Check disable. Then hit OK.
