Bit of a problem.
So I went to the config.exe in the main Icewind Dale directory and I changed some hotkeys round to make playing the game more comfortable, however when turning on the game the hotkeys I've changed haven't actually changed at all and remain at their default settings. When I go back to the config.exe the changes I've made are still in place.

Has anyone else encountered this issue and know how to solve it? Is it because I installed mods first before changing the config.exe and that might be interrupting it somehow? Or does the config.exe not actually work?

Thanks for your help!
Have you got the game installed in Program Files (x86)..........?
Can you see the changes in Keymap.ini ?
It's unlikely given that config.exe keeps the changes you made, but have a look at the properties of the .ini files that config.exe changes and see if they are write protected. If so, disable that. I think the one for hotkeys is called keymap.ini and is also in your IWD directory. Open it and see if your hotkey settings are really stored there, otherwise just change them manually.
Thanks for the replies guys. Now another issue. Upon saving the Keymap.ini file after making changes it says "Please check whether this file is open in another program." It isn't at all. The game isn't on and it's not being used else where. Any ideas?

Thanks again!

--- Fixed! ---

I had to run Notepad++ as administrator. Thanks again for the help!
