Hickory: That's why the classics were THE top selling items on GOG, is it? Why do you think Beamdog made sure you couldn't buy the classics without their (inferior) products? Pft!
Yes, I do agree that we should still have the option to purchase the classic versions as separate products rather than have to buy both together. After playing them, the EE's really aren't as bad as people make them out to be, but I believe that consumers should have the right to buy the originals as standalones if they so wish. Make the classic versions available for the typical GoG price point of $5 - $10, then sell your EE versions at a higher prices, but also include the classic versions for free as a sweetener. If their concern is being forced to maintain legacy code, then just put in a disclaimer that the classic versions are sold as-is to the point where Bioware/Black Isle stopped maintaining them, and no further patchwork will be done on them.
After restarting with a new character to avoid any bug/fu-ups with the character import thingie I realized that the game had to be bugged since, as always no complains from the characters, but when I was fighting the first pseudo boss in the middle of "Irenicu's intelectual amusement palace(tm)" and clicked once over Misc to tell him to make way for Jaheira, he responded with "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice watch it, I'm huge" line. But that line never came again nor any other new line of dialog for the matter during the entire escape ordeal.

I didn't liked the idea but I finally reinstaled the game (with the Vacum C_Cleaner pass to delete any registry residuals) and... it changed nothing, no complains and no new dialogs from the characters. At least Minsc anoyed line is in there, I didn't checked the audio files but I will do it once I return home late this day, but for now I assume that it is a bug in the "Complete" version of Baldur's Gate 2.

If someone out there has the BG2 Complete Edition installed, it would be nice to know if my copy is just bugged or it is a problem in the GOG catalog.
IWD and BG both support four rare selection sounds and these are still present and working in the EEs. While some did use these lines to express annoyance, they really just run the gamut of being something out of the normal three-sound selection rotation and they'll randomly fire when you're selecting or clicking on a character. Minsc's four, for example, are "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, watch it! I'm huge!", "When the going gets tough, someone hold my rodent.", "There be safety in numbers, and I am two or three at least.", and "Make way evil! I'm armed to the teeth and packing a hamster!".

BG2 (and BG2EE) do not have rare selection sounds at all, but instead support two rare *action* sounds. So you'll get these not by clicking on a character, but by making them do something like move. Using Minsc as an example again, in BG2 he has "The bigger they are, the harder I hit!" and "Don't teach my hamster to suck eggs!" as his rare action sounds.

The various X-to-BG2 conversions mods (Tutu, BGT, IWD-in-BG2) generally pick two of the four rare selection sounds from the original games and slot them into the two rare action sounds supported by the BG2 engine, because it's the best they can do.

edit: Should also add, that the action sounds also get pre-empted with some actions, e.g. attacking an enemy will use one of their battle cries instead of an action sound.

I *think*; I could be wrong here, but I think the two rare action sounds got introduced with Throne of Bhaal, or at least with a later patch of BG2. Because I seem to remember that when I installed ToB first time (up to then I only had the 4 disc version), I went "cool! They added new sounds".

It could just be my memory playing tricks on me. I have the discs so maybe when I have free time I'll try it out.
