Has anyone else had this?

I've been playing IWD2 for a few weeks now, but as of today the game crashes to desktop when I load a game when the loading bar is about 1/3 full.

If I load from the initial main menu there's no issue - it occurs when I have a game in progress and go to reload (usually after a white dragon has killed four party members in one go...)

I found a suggestion elsewhere to delete the 'default' folder in the IWD2 savegame folder, but this hasn't helped...
