Sorry for posting this here, I didn't see an Icewind Dale 2 forum. I picked it up a short time ago and I am enjoying it but the game suffers from absolutely mind boggling slow down.
If there are 2-3 spells animating on screen, its slows to absolute crawl, 2-5 FPS tops. Anymore than that and the game practically locks up from slowdown. Obviously my computer is more than capable of handling this game, I have a beast. I assume that has nothing to do with it. I was going to post a DX Diag but I'll just sum up.
I have an Asus Sabretooth P67 MB. I5-2500K, GTX 580, 8GB DDR3 1600 Ripjaw RAM. I am also using Windows 7 64-bit.
Any workarounds for the slowdown issues?
-EDIT-
I should add that I tweaked some compatibility modes and disabled some Direct3D functions and it seemed to help somewhat.
