Hickory: No, you are wrong. To be clear, it is not the files that are infected but the advertising that gets injected into the web page. I have picked up confirmed (by various virus scanners
and VirusTotal) malware on more than one occasion. None recently because I won't use sorcerers.net unless absolutely necessary.
TalSP: It's obviously futile to argue over this point since you're convinced that you're right,
That's because I
am right.
so I'm just going to say that thousands of people are viewing the site on a daily basis and if anything of the sort was happening on more than an isolated incident basis,
Hundreds of thousands of people also get infected every day
without realising it, and an isolated incident is still an incident. Don't try to cover things up with blarney.

we would be getting complaints and reports from people about it left and right.
Untrue. Ad blockers of myriad kinds are prevalent.
Dozens of thousands of websites are using the same advertising providers as we are, so there's really nothing special about the ads on SP. You are, of course, free to not use the website if you deem so fit, I would just kindly ask you (and anyone else) to report to me if you actually encounter anything problematic instead of posting unsubstantiated claims here.
My claims are not unsubstantiated, they are fact, just merely in the past because I no longer use the site.
It's obviously not in my interest to have even a single bad ad anywhere on the site, but I can't really do anything about issues that are not brought to my attention at the time when they occur.
It's not my job to waste time trying to contact web site admins, nor any body else's.
