Pangaea666: How very nice of them. Should pull the 'games' from the market and transfer what money they made from the heist to the account of the people who actually made these games. Twats.
Really have a hard time understanding this sentiment. The *only* way Beamdog could get the IP rights to the original game was to *buy* those rights from the entities who held the IP before Beamdog bought it from them. I think it's more than obvious that if Beamdog did not own the rights legally and free and clear that the actually holders of the IP would be suing their hides off...;) There's no way Beamdog could simply steal it...;)
Also, the people who "made these games"--I assume you mean the original developers--were paid long ago for making the game. When you sell the IP, unless the sale calls for it, then you also sell the rights to future profit on the use and sale of that IP. It's also very possible that the people who owned the IP sold it to Beamdog with a clause that pays them x% in royalties on all future sales of the material. Whatever the terms, they are private between Beamdog and the former IP owners, and not available to the public. As such, the entire topic is really irrelevant, don't you think? I mean, if the original developers or later IP holders are happy, why shouldn't you be? It's nice of you to worry about them, but I honestly don't think it is necessary.
