"Could not find a Direct 3D device that supports the XNA Framework HiDef profile"

Apparently my PC is too old - or is there a workaround? (Beyond getting a new PC/graphics card)

My Mac (late 2011) is a lot newer, but (running VirtualBox) I get the same message. Any Virtual Box wizards know a workaround?

Or, has anyone managed to run it via Wine?

You might want to check the technical specifications of your graphics card as some will not support the XNA Framework HiDef profile despite having the latest drivers and the Microsoft XNA Framework installed :/
