There is a patch on other platforms such as steam and humble bundle that comes with a new launcher that allows full screen toggle and resolution changes.. GOG have not yet supplied this patch

Am I missing something - mine is in fullscreen straight from the gog installer.

Mine as well, though I'm using the OS X version which was released later and integrated the older patches.

I was gonna add... mine's definitely fullscreen too, but you're using OS X. I couldn't imagine playing this at a lower resolution/smaller screen than full, it's so vibrant!
