After two days of trying to finish the "Sleight of Crate" trial at Spurflints Hunting Grounds for a blazing Sun (the last I need for the Hunters Lodge quest) I decided to count my attempts today and that number is 43. So to say I have attempted this over 100 times is not an exaggeration.

I have watched all the walkthrough videos and tried dozens of different strategies but enough is enough. Sony and Guerrilla Games need to look at this because I came to these hunting grounds loving this game but this quest has made me want to do something else. It definitely kills replayability even if I strike it lucky somewhere around the 150th attempt. What's more, I'm not alone.

I'm Level 60, and due to my severe disability I am playing on Story mode. This makes no difference. There are only 2 crates on the ground and getting the other two with robots hitting me left and right there is no way I can get the other two in the 1:10 time I'm alotted. I could certainly use some help but even if I somehow manage it, this will not solve the problem.

I also had to retry this challange a couple of times. What you could try to do, if you haven't already, is to dodge roll all the way from site 1 (on the right side if you look down from the camp) to site 2 instead of running. I may be wrong on this, but I could swear you are a bit faster this way. Maybe it buys you some seconds. Site 2 always felt much more difficult because more machines are attacking and preventing you from picking the crates. Did you try to get 1 machine on your side wiht corruption arrows? I have not done this myself, somehow managed to collect the crates.

Thanks Shabdez. About 3 hours afrer writing that post, the dozens of things that need to align in order to win this trial actually came together. However, this was about more than just my frustration. I think this is a great game and prior to the last patch you could go to the first location where there were three crates on the ground, and then run to the second location for another three crates on the ground. Loot one and it was over. And it appeared to be ridiculously easy.

It is so important for replayability that I not spend 3 days on that trial in future playthroughs. The developers were right to make this trial a challenge but they over-did it. If they changed the time from 1:10 to 1:30 for a blazing sun they just may get the correct balance.
Glad you made it finally.
I understand your frustration. Failing over and over again, not because you're not good enough, but simply due to bad level design or the challange being based to much on sheer luck is not quite the gaming experience we are playing for.

Haha, I have yet to do the hunting grounds and I already finished the game ;) It seemed like a boring side quest to me.

I only had one jump during the game which i found a little bit more difficult. I had to retry some times but in the end got it done.
