Open the hosts file in notepad (“C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts”), add the following to the bottom of the file.
65.112.87.186 key.gamespy.com
65.112.87.186 master.gamespy.com
65.112.87.186 master0.gamespy.com
65.112.87.186 hd2.available.gamespy.com
65.112.87.186 hd2.master.gamespy.com
65.112.87.186 hd2.ms14.gamespy.com
You'll probably have to save it somewhere elses (eg. desktop) then drag/drop it back to replace it as it needs administrator privialge.
That's probably it, though you may or may not need to install Qtracker too (http://www.qtracker.com) though you can still use ingame browser to search and join games so other than the install, Qtracker isn't needed.
EDIT: If you get a "CD Key in use" error when trying to join a game, you probably wanna use the GOG key fix detailed at https://hidden-and-dangerous.net/articles/fixing-hidden-and-dangerous-2-multiplayer/

serverlist.bin option still works, just don't press "Update" button, press "Refresh" instead. There is problem with cd keys too, but that is easy to solve.
Biggest problem is playerbase, I remember in 2010 and 2011 I think there were quite many players, and servers had problem to handle them all, but now... almost zero.

I'm hopeless, me and my friend can't play online. We have done everything from this guide and nothing. hidden-and-dangerous.net/articles/fixing-hidden-and-dangerous-2-multiplayer
We have tried even Evolve HQ via virtual LAN and nothing. We just can't see each other in game, can't connect to created server. In Qtracker I can't even see Hidden and Dangerous 2 at all.

It says to use Qtracker but that doesn't support Gamespy emuilation anymore. Anyone got a fix for that? Thank you.
