Thank you very much. This was the most important thing i was looking for when i saw this game released on GOG ;).Cheers
Is there any way to create a cooperative game like original game?

I know the game only runs Multiplayer in Windows XP, is there any way to solve that?

I have the same question. If I can't play cooperative then it's not even worth buying.

The original campaign that came with h&d2 was single-player only, and you can't play that in coop even with the expansion, right? Or does the expansion modify the original campaign so all or some of those missions becomes available to play coop as well?

Any way I got much entertainment out of the original single-player missions, even if I was missing coop from h&d1 that was so good.

Yes you can play coop. Most sinlgeplayer maps have been modified for multiplayer by the community. And there are lots more new missions available.
2 things you should download additionally:

Hawk's hosts patcher
Auto updates your hosts file so HD2 connects to Qtracker instead of GameSpy

Coop Map Package (CMP_v1.8.7z)
How to install see cmp_ReadMe.txt

//edit
HD2 runs with XP, Windows 7 and Windows 10. Never had Windows 8 installed so i can't tell exactly but should work too.

Are there even still people playing this game online? I remember back in the day that it was quite the blast. People RPing, working together and acting like a real squad etc. this game was dope in multiplayer. Never had so much fun in any other military multiplayer game since then.

Repurchased the entire series. Love H&D and thanks for the tips.
Regarding how to host an MP server for H&D2, for years now I've been using a Windows XP virtual machine running in VirtualBox at LAN parties.

My servers were never publicly available so I can't give tips on that part, but you want to go into your BIOS to make sure your CPU's virtualization extensions are enabled (otherwise the server VM will not be hardware accelerated and you will get server lag, particularly noticeable when trying to hit moving targets) and use a bridged network adapter for the VM so your server will have its own IP on your network.

EDIT: For additional performance, use the paravirt network adapter and track down the Windows drivers for that from Red Hat.

We have a guide coming that will make it so you won't need to use a Virtual Machine, stay tuned!

Has anyone got this working with Evolve? A friend and I are trying to get a lan game going through it and we can't get it to work. If you have, could you explain exactly what has to be done? We followed the steps from the H&D.net website.
I guess I need to use the internet browser but how do I get qtracker to work? I can't select H&D2 as an installed game in qtracker.
