My computer automatically updated to windows 11 last night and Heroes of Might and Magic 3: Complete is failing to load despite having played it before the upgrade. Is anyone else having this issue?

It goes like this:
1. Click the "Play" button on the GOG page for Homm3
2. Get a "Bonk" noise from windows and Homm3 logo appears in task bar
3. Click the application and it disappears from task bar

Event viewer shows this seemingly ambiguous error:

I repaired and that didn't work then uninstalled and reinstalled but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Edit: The issue was caused by windows 11 installation overwriting my graphics driver with some generic one.

Your DirectPlay setting might have been automatically reset to off.

Also, how come you're not using the HD mod executable instead, which is more compatible with newer OSes and more stable?

If you are not really interested in being a beta-tester for the new OS revision then roll it back while you still can. And disable automatic upgrade to a newer version of Windows via system policy.

Do you use HD Mod or HoTA? I use both and the game runs flawlessly on Windows 11.
