They're not working at all. Weird I've played this on Win 10 before, just new computer.
Any suggestions? I tried all kinds of compatiblity tweaks, run as adminstrator, etc.

Does applying and running the HD mod fix this?

I looked at it, but don't see anything about a fix they made for the problem I'm having.

They change the way the executable works a bit through their own DLLs, with the edits mainly oriented towards rendering issues, bugfixes and feature additions, but it just might fix the control problem you're having.

Okay problem solved. Apparently I forgot it forces you to watch the entire intro scenes.
After that keyboard/mouse works fine and I can get directly to the menu when I quit and load it back up
I recently installed the game and had a problem with the keyboard and the mouse stopping working after I tried loading a save game. I did some screw around and found that the input
Cfg. File had disappeared from my saved game directory. Actually took me a minute to find the saved game directory because it's not in the same directory as game files. I had to use the windows search function and Look for .sav . Then I had to select files until I found the correct directory that had my heroes of might and magic 5 profile. Once I found that I was able to copy the input. CFG file from the game's main directory into my player profile directory and Bam! Keyboard and mouse started working and properly to control the camera.

Had the same problem, I fixed the problem by copying input.cfg or input_a2.cfg (depends on windows 7/8/10)

to:

C:\Users\<my username>\Documents\My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East\Profiles\<my username>

from:

<Program Files (x86)>\GOG Galaxy\Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East\profiles\default_profile

good luck!!

This was indeed the solution, thank you!

- search for the file input.cfg
usually in: GOG Galaxy\Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V\profiles\default_profile
- copy the file to your profiles/player folder (not in Saves folder)
usually in: Documents\My Games\Heroes of Might and Magic V\Profiles\Player
